Commitment for diversity in STEM

I am convinced that we need more women in science, so I also work towards getting more girls interested in STEM subjects:

  • I recently helped organizing the SIGMM Women in Multimedia Lunch 2016
  • I am Chair of the Gender Balance Committee in Qualinet (COST action 1003) and initiator of the Gendered Innovation research activities within it
  • I am Ambassador of DEWIS – Delft Women In Science network in the Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science Faculty (EWI) of TU Delft
  • I Co-founded dEWIs (DEWIS chapter in EWI). dEWIs aims at promoting networking, student involvement and career development for the women in our faculty. dEWIs activities are embedded in the effort that TUDelft is putting in following the Charter “Talent to the top”, proposed by the Dutch government to increase the presence of women in top management positions.
  • Together with some other great ladies, we organized the panel session “are we in balance yet? Stories from different continents” at the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women In Computing 2012 (Baltimore, USA). http://gracehopper.org/2013/
